Carlos Slim Helu Tops Forbes' Most Richest Man List
Mexican tycoon Carlos Slim Helu is now the world's richest man dethroning last year's richest, Bill Gates.
According to Forbes annual list of the richest people on earth, Slim's fortune has swelled to an estimated $53.5 billion, up $18.5 billion in 12 months.
The billionaires' list is composed of several self made billionaires whose net worth generally grew in 2009 despite the global economic crisis. This year the World's Billionaires have an average net worth of $3.5 billion, up $500 million in 12 months. The list also includes 27 billionaires from China, 62 billionaires from Russia and 80 billionaires from the U.S.
