A new Job or a new Business?

Should you find a JOB—or start your own business and be the JOB? Confusing right?

Early this morning, I started researching for topics that I would be writing about for this week. I feel quite pressured, not knowing whether I’m coming up with good content or at least an “okay” content for ForexTradingLifestyle. The number of the blog’s unique visitors isn’t that impressive. And I’m not quite sure if the blog page drives the needed traffic for our homepage forextradingseminar.com.

Anyway, I found that question really striking because it’s something a person should really think about. Let’s put it this way: You just lost your job. You get frantic worrying about everything. And with the downturn of the economy landing a new job (that matches your experience and skills) is like throwing a rock to the moon. Its like can hear Dennis Hopper’s character in Speed inside my head, asking this question: “Pop quiz hotshot. What do you do?”

Should you find a JOB or start your own business?

In time.com’s feature “10 Ideas Changing the World Right Now”, writer Barbara Kiviat said that jobs are the new assets now—houses and stocks and other things that make us think we are rich—are out. The crisis made us realize how important our job is (especially now that most people are part of massive lay-offs). Said David Ellison, a Boston-based money manager, the writer interviewed, "People are realizing their job is their real source of financial stability.  They have to live within the means of their job, not within the means of their assets.”

However, for those who already lost this type of “asset”, hunting for a new employment is very, very frustrating. The US unemployment rate of 8.1 says it all. So, those who are out of work turn into a different source of income: entrepreneurship.

And I think, it really does make sense. Job opportunities are so scarce right now so one should be smart enough to find other means of creating income. Luckily, the INTERNET is a great tool in starting up your entrepreneurial endeavors.

The Internet has given people an extraordinary tool not just to market their ideas but also to find business partners and suppliers, and to do all kinds of functions on the cheap: keeping the books, interacting with customers, even turning a small idea into a big idea.

Although business failure is like 80% possible and your detractors will tell you that upfront, internet-based businesses do bring success (in large scales). Take Google for example. Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. And a bunch of other endeavors that gain advertising and customers through the world-wide-web. My boss, Scott Shubert, and also the founder of Trading Mastermind, is the perfect example for this.

Through the internet, he encourages people to start a career forex trading. His trading methods has helped thousands and continues to do so up to the present. It only means that one can be liberated from donning a suit for everyday corporate work.

So, how about you, will you continue searching for a job or become your own big boss?
